Country Chatter Newsletter
June 2013
Issue #14

Welcome to the "new" Country Chatter

I want to welcome all the new people to my little newsletter.  The newsletter is just my way of sharing my part of the world with everyone, and helping people with their businesses and hoping to make the world just a little bit better for a couple minutes, to bring a laugh or a smile to your face and just a way of saying thanks.

Well, summer has come to the valley!!!  We have not even reached summer yet and we have had numerous days over 100 and this Thursday, it will be 111.  Thank goodness that the air works in my truck. The heat has put a stop to the re-modeling of the back yard.   I got the gate done and it is stained, too.  I bought an arbor from Claudia and painted it cream.  I have a small patio (which I built) in front of the fence and put the arbor there, along with some pots in purple and cream with some ducks.  So that side is done expect for a wreath on the arbor .  I will take photos and put them in the next newsletter.

Have you ever heard of Girls Night Out????  Claudia and I went to one last Friday night at "The Blue House Boutique" in Catlin Court in Glendale.  There was food, raffles, prizes, vendors selling wonderful stuff, a Tarot Reader and so much more wonderful stuff.  I bought the most beautiful key rack in barn red with a canning jar on it, to plant a plant. Now, down in the section that I feature some of the shops, there will be photos from the Girl's Night Out.  Now, just because you missed this one, do not despair, they are going to have a couple more this summer and a couple more around the holidays.  There is another one on June 22 but for another shop  I am looking for anyone that is interested in going, please email me.

You know how am always telling you to go take a class, well, the shops in Catlin Court are offering classes and I took a one stroke painting class at Vintage Green.  I am going to make a sign for my "New" gate which reads "Welcome to my Garden" with a scene on it complete with flowers.  I just need to practice and decide how I want it to look.

Baby Stripes loves to come in the computer room to sit on my lap and he LOVES Farmville 2, he always tries to catch the animals that are moving all over the screen and he can't understand why nothing is moving on this screen.

There was a photo on the local news today and it stated
Satan called, and he wants his summer back.

  Random Thoughts:

It's so hot in Arizona that...

  • you no longer associate bridges (or rivers) with water.
  • you can say 113 degrees without fainting.
  • you can make instant sun tea.
  • when the temperature drops below 95, you feel a bit chilly.
  • you've experienced condensation on your butt from the hot water in the toilet bowl.
  • you would give anything to be able to splash cold water on your face.
  • you can attend any function wearing shorts and a tank top.
  • The 4 seasons are: tolerable, hot, really hot, and ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!
  • you discover that in August, it takes only 2 fingers to drive your car.
  • you discover that you can get a sunburn through your car window.
  • you notice the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
  • hot water now comes out of both taps.
  • it's noon in August, kids are on summer vacation, and not one person is out on the streets.
  • you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
  • you break a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m. before work.
  • no one would dream of putting vinyl upholstery in a car or not having air conditioning.

  • Stay Cool!

What is really strange, you go outside after dinner to water your plants and there is NO ONE outside, not a child or any adult.

    Happy Feet's Corner

Well, it is that time of the month again, now I know everyone has been waiting for it, so I know that my fan club can't wait to hear from me.  It has been way to hot out here for me to go outside, so I wave at the two cats that live outside and do the happy dance because I am inside and they are outside.  Baby Stripes will be a year old the end of this month and he wants a Birthday Party and he wants to invite other kitties over for cake and Italian Beef Sandwiches. That kitty that he invited over to the house is still here and is the only kitty that  wants to be friends with Baby Stripes. She is letting our furless mom pet her, she likes the bench in the front yard and sleeps on it at night. Now if you live out here in Arizona, you know that the sidewalk will fry an egg and it is rough on animal's feet so who has to go outside, Baby Stripes and it is just too hot outside but.............. he comes in and runs directly for the fan and lays down in front of it until he cools down.  Well I have not gotten Baby Stripes into any trouble, Buddy and I have just been staying in the house but I have been playing with Baby Stripes' toys and hiding them on him.  So my fan club, this is it for this month.  I am trying to convince my furless mom that I need a Facebook page, just for my fan club, I know if I look at her with my big eyes, she will give in to me.

    Stay cool !!!

The kittens are always looking for new recipes, and if you would like to have one in the newsletter, you can email them to  If you have a website, we will be more than happy to include that, too.  Bandit says if you want to send him some samples, he will not say no !!!!!

All of these recipes will be on the website, so if you want to print them out, they are set up in the newsletter that all you have to do is copy and print.  A couple recipes for the summer months.  I have learned how to use the grill now, so a couple grilling recipes next month.
